i tried a new way to sketch,first i made a rough sketch for the hole composition in grey with strong contrasts,after that i placed some layer in overlay mode over it and copied some pictures in it.that looks very confused but after some cleaning up i think it shows the right idea i have about a modern viking.this is not finish only a wip.

now i can start to paint and concept the armor over this

The idea is that this guy combined traditional things with modern security or special forces gadgeds.

These are a couple of (pen drawed) head concepts. Before anyone asks, the dude with the shades has a radio (for transmission, not for listening, lol) taped to his temple. Still working on the whole thing. But I rather liked the idea of blending the vikings with a not-so-long ago era, in this case the vietnam war. Except the two heads on the far right. One has an acid like eruption on his skin. The other is more of a cyborg.
